Warriors, Kaiser Permanente and the Athletes’ Corner Donate Over 1.1 Million Meals During 2022-23 Season Through Swishes for Dishes Campaign
The Golden State Warriors, Kaiser Permanente and The Athletes’ Corner announced today that they have donated 1,122,300 meals to Bay Area food banks throughout the 2022-23 season through the Swishes for Dishes campaign. With the help of Feeding America, 100 meals were donated to local food banks for each point the Warriors scored last season. Since the launch of Swishes for Dishes at the start of the 2020-21 season, a total of 3,298,600 meals have been donated.
In addition to the meal donations, the Warriors teamed up the Alameda County Community Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley and San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to host meal distribution events throughout the Bay Area.
The Warriors finished the 2022-23 season with a total of 11,223 points scored, equating to over 1.1 million meals donated to those in need. The Warriors and Kaiser Permanente have a longstanding partnership and are committed to promoting health and wellness throughout the greater Bay Area.
In October 2021, the Warriors, Kaiser Permanente and The Athletes’ Corner announced the expansion of Swishes for Dishes to include the Santa Cruz Warriors (NBA G League) and Warriors Gaming Squad (NBA 2K League), with each point equating to 10 meals donated to local food banks. Since the expansion, 162,020 meals have been donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County and 5,180 meals have been donated to the Food Banks of Contra Costa and Solano County.
