
Chanthon Bun is a Cambodian refugee and survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide. His journey is a testament to resilience and redemption. After spending twenty-three years in prison for an offense committed at age eighteen, he transformed his life behind bars—becoming a mentor, educator, and restorative justice practitioner at San Quentin. Since his release in 2020, Chanthon has become a nationally respected leader in criminal justice reform and immigrant rights. As Executive Director of the Asian Prisoner Support Committee, he works tirelessly to support formerly incarcerated individuals, mentor at-risk youth, and advocate for Southeast Asian refugee communities. A devoted father and grandfather, Chanthon dedicates his life to healing, justice, and collective transformation.
