Reverend Doctor Amos C. Brown is the Senior Pastor of the historic Third Baptist Church in San Francisco and one of eight students enrolled in the only college course Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ever taught at Morehouse College. Doctor Brown was uniquely positioned in the history of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement, serving as Head of the Youth Council of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Mississippi, from 1962-1964. A minister for six decades, Dr. Brown has led Third Baptist Church for nearly fifty years and has served on numerous international and national boards, including the National Board of the NAACP.
