
Rodney “Alamo” Brown is a multifaceted community leader, author of If My Eyes Could Rewind: The Real Richmond, CA Story, and cultural organizer. He is best known as the founder of Soulful Softball Sunday, an award-winning annual event for community healing in Richmond, California. His commitment earned him the Contra Costa County’s 2025 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian of the Year Award for organizing over 105 free community events and serving millions of meals during the pandemic. Rodney also serves as a freelance sports journalist covering UC Berkeley football.
