Urban Forestry Volunteer Event presented by Kimberly-Clark

The Golden State Warriors, in partnership with Kimberly-Clark, led two Urban Forestry Events, bringing volunteers to Candlestick Point and Half Moon Bay State Beach to help keep the parks clean and support ongoing habitat restoration.

Sustainable Soles presented by Starry

The Golden State Warriors, in partnership with Starry, hosted Sustainable Soles, an event encouraging fans to properly donate and recycle shoes and textiles that they no longer want to divert waste. Knowing that the Bay Area is home to many sneakerheads, there was a special VIP shopping experience hosted by HavASole for young adults from local community organizations, as well as a shoe recycling station and tabling opportunities for nonprofits that work in the recycling/upcycling industry.

Get in Gear presented by Waymo

The Golden State Warriors, in partnership with Waymo, hosted Get in Gear at the East Plaza of Chase Center. The event kicked off with a bike and helmet donation to 35 youth from SF City Impact and the celebration included bicycle repair stations, education and program resources, customization stations, safety demonstrations, family-friendly activities, giveaways, and more. Attendees were encouraged to ride their bikes to Chase Center via the bike paths to promote the use of alternative transportation.

Spirit of Fatherhood presented by Hennessy

The Golden State Warriors, in partnership with Hennessy, hosted Spirit of Fatherhood, a celebration for local fathers from Man 2 Man Urban Youth Advocate. The event included a Warriors Basketball Academy clinic and a panel that shared their experiences as fathers.

Swishes for Dishes presented by Kaiser Permanente, in collaboration with The Athletes’ Corner and Feeding America

On the court, every point counts. Off the court, every point feeds. For every point the Warriors score, 100 meals are donated to prevent hunger. During the 2023- ’24 season, 1 million meals were committed to local food banks to support Bay Area families. Swishes for Dishes volunteer events were also hosted throughout the season to support the food distributions of local food banks: SF-Marin Food Bank, Alameda County Community Food Bank and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. Since the program’s inception at the start of the 2020-21 season, over 4.4 million meals have been donated.

All-Hands Volunteer Day

The Golden State Warriors hosted an All-Hands Employee Volunteer Day for Front Office staff members. Employees engaged in renovation/revitalization projects at C.A.R.E. in San Francisco and Oakland Academy of Knowledge.

Library Reveal presented by Ross Dress for Less

The Golden State Warriors, in partnership with Ross Dress for Less, hosted two volunteer build events followed by a library renovation unveiling at Markham Elementary School in Oakland, CA. Golden State Warriors and Ross volunteers built furniture, decorated, and prepared the room for the ribbon-cutting event where GSW Legend Festus Ezeli and GSW Dance Team did a read-aloud and Q+A with the students.

Back to School in the Bay presented by CarMax

The Warriors, in partnership with CarMax, hosted the 4th annual Back to School in the Bay event to provide school supplies to Bay Area students and teachers. Over 50,000 supplies were distributed in an effort to prepare our community for the upcoming school year. Warriors Legend Festus Ezeli made an appearance to hand out supplies and two signed jerseys.

Thrive City Community Hosting

The Warriors and Kaiser Permanente hosted various community basketball clinics and special Thrive Zone community hosting experiences at Chase Center’s Thrive City including Blankets & Blockbusters, Health & Wellness Sundays, Hoop It Up and more.

Aloha to the School Year

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Month, Generation Thrive hosted Aloha to the School Year at Generation Thrive, Oakland on May 22nd! This event was a luau-themed celebration for educators. Over 250 educators experienced live music, delicious food, engaging activities, and tons of free prizes and giveaways. During the event, a local Polynesian dance group guided educators through traditional dances. The event was hosted by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Zena Keita and Burton High School’s Wade King-Gallman, with a special guest appearance by Festus Ezeli and music by DJ D Sharp, the official DJ of the Golden State Warriors.

Warriors Community Foundation Impact Exchange

On June 3rd, the Warriors Community Foundation and Generation Thrive of the Golden State Warriors hosted the Warriors Community Foundation Impact Exchange for the Bay Area nonprofit and educator community. Guests participated in networking activities and gained insight from Warriors Community Foundation board member and former Superintendent of San Francisco Unified School District, Dr. Vincent Matthews. During this event, guests made meaningful connections and shared best practices to support youth and their families.

Minds Right

On July 30th, Generation Thrive, Golden State Entertainment and Dope Era hosted the fourth event of the “Minds Right” series, titled “Authenticity and Impact”. Participants learned how to create an authentic and captivating personal brand while discovering techniques for building a robust professional network. Attendees also engaged in a dynamic discussion with Bay Area rapper and community activist Mistah Fab alongside Bay Area rapper, LaRussell.

Following the discussion, UNTOLD Media held a personal branding workshop to help educators elevate their strategies. UNTOLD Media is a Bay Area non-profit organization that empowers individuals and organizations to craft impactful brands.

Supplies to Thrive presented by Kaiser Permanente

In preparation for the upcoming school year, Generation Thrive of the Golden State Warriors hosted Supplies to Thrive presented by Kaiser Permanente on August 10th. 300 Oakland teachers received essential supplies for their classroom and premium gifts to ensure an outstanding classroom environment and tools to support their students’ learning. Warriors legends Tom Tolbert and Adonal Foyle surprised educators at the event and raffled off signed jerseys and a $500 Lakeshore Learning Gift Card that an educators could use to upgrade their classroom. DoorDash and Peet’s Coffee were participating sponsors and provided educators with amazing giveaways.

Franchise Fund presented by United Airlines

The Golden State Warriors, United Airlines, and the Western Regional Minority Supplier Diversity Council (WRMSDC) are partnering to launch the 5th cohort of the Franchise Fund, a program for Bay Area small businesses from underrepresented communities that provides the education and skills to engage with corporate organizations for new business opportunities. The program is specifically designed for both emerging and established business-to-business (B2B) companies looking to enhance their capabilities in engaging with large corporate entities.
