April McGill is an enrolled member of Round Valley Indian Tribes. She is a direct descendant of the Yuki and Mishawal Wappo nations. April McGill has been a San Francisco resident for over 20 years living, working and serving the American Indian community in the bay area. April McGill is the Executive Director of the American Indian Cultural Center of San Francisco and board member of the American Indian Cultural District. April McGill led the efforts to bring visibility for a virtual American Indian cultural center and cultural district for San Francisco, educating stakeholders and legislators on the cultural importance of place and identity for American Indian people in San Francisco. April McGill is an accomplished, highly professional and respected California Indian woman leader in both urban and tribal communities giving voice to the health disparities for Indian people in California through her policy advocacy work. April McGill is proud to be a mother to her 16 year old son Tokala. April McGill is extremely grateful for the Impact Warriors award and thanks the Golden State Warriors Organization and the American Indian community for this honor.
