She works locally right here in Mission Bay helping both Veterans and families to build a sense of community and belonging. Kiely joined the Resident Services Team at Chinatown CDC in late 2019. Unsure of what residents would need to make it through the unique challenges of the pandemic, she reached out to people and started to organize social distancing games and activities kits that could be done from home fostering a sense of community during the trying time. Kiely also ensured the residents had the key resources they needed to continue to pay bills and put food on their tables. In the last 3 years, Kiely has hosted over seven hundred community activities and events for Veterans, families, and community members. For Kiely, being in service of the community is more than just a passion, it’s life’s purpose.
