In 1944, 18 year old Jeanne Gibson arrived in Seattle, WA to work in the Todd-Pacific Shipyards as a welder working on destroyers.She ended her wartime job in Juneau, Alaska in 1945 making manifests and hatch lists for the Army Transportation Corps.Jeanne has been living in the Bay Area ever since she moved here in 1946 where she attended UC Berkeley, earning her Bachelors, Masters and PH.D in Educational Psychology.She now is keeping the Rosie the Riveter history alive by sharing her wartime job experiences at the Rosie the Riveter WW2 Home Front National Park in Richmond, CA every Friday morning!
