Judy Chow is an Educator who taught for 23 years at the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Since retiring in 2016, Judy continues to work for the District as a Substitute Teacher and also volunteers her time at The Richmond Neighborhood Center Food Pantries in San Francisco’s Richmond District. As a volunteer, Judy assists with overseeing the set-up and distribution of food, which includes unloading large pallets, packaging, distributing food packages to walk-in participants and making deliveries to home bound participants. The staff, other volunteers and participants consider Judy a valuable resource as she also assists with Cantonese translations and youth volunteers committed to serving the community. For Judy, the joy of volunteering at the Food Pantry is very rewarding. The recipients are relieved and happy to receive their weekly food packages and deliveries which is essential to their well-being.
