Kim Tavaglione is a leader in the labor movement in San Francisco, working to bring economic and social justice to the workplace and ensure all workers are treated with dignity. Kim spent years as a union organizer, representing public, private, and nonprofit workers, before joining the San Francisco Labor Council as its Campaign Director in 2018. In 2020 Kim moved into the role of Executive Director of the Council, becoming the first woman and first woman of color to lead the Council. The Labor Council is a membership organization of over 100 unions representing more than 100,000 union members and their families. In her role as Executive Director, Kim uses her leadership and experience to assist affiliates with strategy development and build worker power through political education and action, economic development in San Francisco, union organizing, community service, and educational programs for the community.
