Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges Foundation

In 1960, at just six years old, Ruby Bridges helped change the course of American history as the first Black child to integrate William Frantz Elementary. Today, her legacy lives on through the Ruby Bridges Foundation, empowering the next generation to lead with courage. From the Camp Bridges youth leadership program to the nationwide Walk to School Day—which began right here in San Francisco—Ruby continues to champion equity, empathy, and inclusion for all.
