Stan Lee, President of the the Asian Firefighters Association, spearheaded a trip along with other members to support Maui from the devasting wildfire. Members volunteered their time to assist in relief efforts following the Maui wildfires which devastated the island just a few weeks ago on August 8th. On Tuesday, August 22nd eleven San Francisco Firefighters, 10 whom are Active, 1 retired in addition to 1 First Responder, departed San Francisco on a one-week humanitarian mission with the intention to serve, support and uplift those affected by this terrible tragedy. During their time there, they volunteered at the Lahaina Gateway Center where their tasks ranged from working at the food kitchen to distributing water, supplies and basic necessities. While there, they were also able to assist in putting out a fire alongside the Maui Fire Department. They recently returned on a second mission trip to Maui, sponsored by R&B sensation Brian Mcknight and his wife, Dr. Leilani Mcknight who grew up in Maui.
