Stanley “Mistah Fab” Cox is a rapper, stylist, local business owner, community activist, philanthropist, father, museum curator, and club owner. He was one of the most prominent members of the HYPHY movement, known for his colorful outfits, sneakers, and original style. He later converted this love for clothing and fashion into a brand in 2011, he calls “DOPE ERA.” Dope Era, an acronym which stands for “Developing Opportunities for People to Evolve and Everyone Rises Above,” is an Oakland-based apparel company that specializes in luxurious urban lifestyle wear for men, women, and children, generates conversation and reinvests in the people of Oakland. Stanley has also recently exposed his struggles with mental health issues, including anxiety and depression, stemming from parental abandonment due to drug addictions. He has created groups for others to help deal with these mental health struggles. He stands as a pillar in the community, advocating for systemic change, while dealing with root causes through mentorship and philanthropic means.
