Susan Stephenson is executive director of California Interfaith Power & Light, an Oakland-based nonprofit mobilizing faith communities to address one of the world’s biggest challenges – global climate change. California Interfaith Power & Light is helping houses of worship around the state become climate resiliency hubs – equipping them with solar power, battery back-up, and air filtration systems. When extreme heat, wildfire smoke, and power outages endanger our communities, especially our most vulnerable, climate resiliency hubs provide a safe place of refuge and sanctuary for all.
